4th of July with Mickey and family

We headed down to Southern California on 4th of July to spend two days at Disneyland. Unfortunately, we missed the new Nemo submarine ride because we really didn't want to spend two hours waiting in line for it. Oh well, maybe the line will be shorter next time. Two great things that we did see were the "Jedi Training Academy" at Disneyland and "Aladdin", a musical, at California Adventure. Check them out if you are there. It's definitely worth seeing. While we were down there we also spent a couple of days with Nate's family and had dinner with my friends Shelly and Sam.
Here are some pictures (to see all the photos, check out my new Flickr page by clicking the link on the right)...

We made Shelly and Sam go to Red Lobster with us because the closest one we have in the Bay Area is in Vallejo! That's just criminal.

We had to hold really still for this picture!

Hangin' Tough

This weekend I went to work with Nate and he took time out of his recent 80 hour work weeks (that's not a joke) so we could put up the larger than life-size LaDainian Tomlinson that I bought him for his birthday. It is ginormous but fits perfectly in his office.

Then I started on my own task of hanging my art. I started with my bedroom, measured very carefully and was shocked when I hung everything level.

For the living room I framed and matted pictures we took while in Greece. I used the new math Nate taught me and drew many lines on the walls. Thankfully, it worked.

Mendocino

This weekend we flew to Mendocino with our friends, Kareem and Taylor. They are both excellent pilots. It was a quick one hour flight to get there (traveling by car would have taken around 5 hours). We met up with some of their other friends who are also pilots. We ate lunch and walked around the small town and oceanside then flew back to the Bay Area later that afternoon. Here are some pictures...

Wayne in Reno...

No, not Wayne Newton...Wayne Brady! If you haven't heard of Wayne Brady, you're missing out. If you haven't seen him live, you're missing out even more. He's the very talented improv comedian/singer that is probably best known for his role on ABC's television show Whose Line Is It Anyway? and for his daytime talkshow The Wayne Brady Show. Nate and I saw him about 3 years ago in Vegas and we couldn't stop laughing throughout his entire show. When we heard he was going to be at the Silver Legacy in Reno this weekend, we decided to drive up there and see him again. Basically, his show is much like Whose Line in that the audience provides topics or random words and he will then use those to make up totally unique skits or songs that will have you laughing continuously. He really is an amazingly talented person.
Here are some pictures and video from our weekend...

Nate LOVES his ice cream!

How is he not 500 pounds?!

Home Decorating 101

This weekend we finally put up my drapes in the dining room. It actually went very smoothly... probably because this is the fourth set of drapes we've hung now. Amazingly, it looks level even though the ceiling and the door frame were slightly unlevel in opposite directions!
