Our Ebay Disneyland Adventure

This year we decided pretty last minute that we were ready for our annual Disneyland trip. Since there wasn't enough time to order tickets with my wonderful Kaiser discount, we decided to scour the internet for good deals. We found a guy on Ebay selling three 2-day park hoppers for the price of 2 tickets. Too good to be true? We thought so...but decided to chance it anyway. The stipulation with the tickets was that the guy would meet us at our hotel at the butt crack of dawn to give us the tickets and we have to meet him again at the end of the second day to give him back the tickets. Okeeeee. You're being a little weird about your tickets, dude. But who am I to question it when we're saving about $150 on our car insurance...I mean park hoppers. In the end, it all worked out and we had a great time. Can't wait to go back already!

Fun on the bay...

This year for our second anniversary, we kept with the 'boat' idea of our wedding, and took a bay cruise on the catamaran, Adventure Cat.
I was planning on wearing just a sweatshirt and jeans. Thank goodness Nate forced me to bring a huge jacket and wear leggings under my jeans cause it was wiiiin-day out there! We had a great time and sat on the outside of the boat for the whole cruise while most everybody else sat inside...boringgggg. I guess they are not adventurous cats like us.
After the boat ride, we toured the Jeremiah O'Brien which was one of the WWII ships!

Did I mention I'm deathly afraid of sharks!

What a great view!

Nice hair!

Playing with the guns.

This ship was HUGE.

Nate needs to put this on his door at work.

Fun with the crock pot!

Ok...so it only took about 5 years but we finally started using our crockpot! It's amazing and I love it.

Our first experiment was broccoli beef. Yes, it did take us about 30 minutes in the grocery store, a smartphone, and a call to Nate's mom to figure out the difference between beef consomme and beef broth but it all worked out in the end. It turned out fabulously and I had leftovers for the whole week at work. My asian coworkers (which means 'all my coworkers') were very impressed!

Smells good!

Hope it tastes good!

Looks just like a restaurant...but healthier!

Next up...chicken tacos! Mmmmmm!!!! This was super easy. Throw the chicken in the pot, cover it with salsa, and let is cook. We made way too much but it was super good. I think I like it more than the broccoli beef.

Mmm...Mmm...Good!

Tony Romo was at my mother-in-laws house!

Check it out...we were watching The Biggest Loser tonight with special guest, Tony Romo. Tony goes running with the Biggest Losers and look where they are! Right in front of Nate's mom's house!

Conan and Colorado!

This weekend we travelled to Colorado to see Conan O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour". Why Colorado, you may ask. Well, we tried to get tickets for San Francisco, then Sacramento, but they quickly sold out. So, since we've never been to Colorado, we decided to see the show there. We stayed in Denver and booked our hotel through Priceline (my new favorite way to book hotels and rental cars). I bid on a room and got a 3.5 star hotel for $50 per night. Thanks William Shatner! We were amazed at how clean Denver was and what little traffic and people walking around the city there was. My only complaint...the air was so dry it made my nose hurt. The Conan show was in Boulder so we spent much of Sunday there just walking around enjoying the city.

We are here.

The rental car came with an ice scraper. You don't see that in California.

Not bad for $50 a night!

The picture over the toilet says "All the women moaning about finding husbands have obviously never had one!"

The lobby bathroom of our hotel.

Each floor of the hotel had a different theme. We were on the 'chick flick' floor :-)

The 13th floor...the horror movie floor. I'm glad we weren't on that one!

Yikes!

The dirty dancing floor?

The sports floor. An actual Sports Illustrated cover from 1955 featuring dachshunds!

Question: What does Nate love more than pillows?

Answer: Burritos!

These burritos were seriously good!

Chasing the geese...Gracie-style.

Paddle boating.

Getting buzzed by the geese!
