June 21, 2008...We couldn't have picked a better day for our wedding. The weather was amazing. The whole day went very smoothly. I went and got my hair done at a great place in Berkeley at 10am. Then I headed home and Nate went and got us some lunch (Quizno's...yummmmmy). We headed over to Sausalito around 2pm and got into our 'wedding gear'. The photographers arrived at 3:30pm and with the help of Nate's friend, Jim, and my friend, Michelle, we headed out to take some pictures before the ceremony at 6pm. I cannot thank Michelle and Jim enough for all their help driving us around, helping me get in and out of the car, and holding my dress up so it didn't get too dirty. Our photographers, Joel and Cara Flory, were great. They were the perfect fit for us...very laid back and friendly. The photos they took are absolutely amazing. Here is the slideshow they put together that they played at our reception...

Thank you to Nate's sister, Heather (who is also a wedding photographer), for taking some beautiful pictures as well. Here are links to all of her pictures and our candid pictures on my Picasa page...

We wanted the whole wedding to be very classy but laid back. My uncle performed the ceremony and kept it very lighthearted and even cracked a couple jokes. A few days before the wedding I decided I didn't want to walk down the aisle to the traditional bridal march so I started searching for alternative music and songs that I could play instead. Just prior to my entrance we played "All I Ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera...my favorite song. Then I walked down the aisle to "O" from Cirque du Soleil. After the ceremony, we exited to "For Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder...a very upbeat song.

Nate picked all the songs for the reception...mostly big band type music (Sinatra, Michael Buble, etc.) since most of our guests were older. We did have one rule for the DJ...she was not allowed to play any songs with a dance associated with it (ie. no YMCA, chicken dance, or Macarena...yikes!)
We were very pleased to request the first dance be done by Nate's grandparents who have been married for 59 years! Nate and I joined in later with our first dance.
"Unforgettable" - Nat King Cole
"Grow Old With You" - Adam Sandler
Thanks again to everyone who attended. We hope you had a good time.
Thank you also to Nate for always making me laugh and sticking by my side. I am very grateful to be married to my best friend.
