European Vacation...

We just returned from our two week vacation in London and Paris. The main purpose of our trip (or at least how I enticed Nate in to wanting to go to England) was to see the San Diego Chargers play the New Orleans Saints at Wembley Stadium. The game was great...except for the fact that the Chargers lost. It was awesome to see an NFL game in Europe. They really do have a lot of european fans and most of them showed up in their jerseys. I think we saw about every single team jersey being worn. I guess when you live in Europe and you only get to go to one game every year, it doesn't matter who plays. Other than the game, we did all the typical touristy stuff...Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Tower of London, London Eye, Harrods, etc. We saw the musical Spamalot which we highly recommend. We ate ALOT...although we avoided English food. Instead, we enjoyed some great indian, chinese, and italian food. In Paris, again, we were typical tourists. We climbed the stairs in the Eiffel Tower to the second level. What a workout! Then I took the elevator to the top and sent Nate back to the bottom. We spent about 8 hours in the Louvre and probably only saw about 20% of everything in there. The place is huge! We visited the Palace of Versailles and took a cruise on the Seinne. Again, we avoided french cuisine but did have a good gyro and some excellent McDonalds...hehe. We were disappointed with the crepes as they didn't measure up to the Crepes-A-Go-Go we have in Berkeley. Pictures are posted on my Picasa page... "Megan's Europe Pictures"
